Empowering Communities Through Language Learning
About Us
Big Dreams Start with Small Words!
WordzTrail was created to support young children, especially immigrant children, as they begin their journey learning English. Every child deserves to feel confident, understood, and at home in their new environment, and we strive to make this goal a reality. Learning a new language is never easy, especially to children still holding on to their first one. This struggle led to WordzTrail: a project where children can grow comfortable with the English language in a fun, engaging, and motivating way. Our activity book is designed to teach the basics, including letters, sounds, sight words, and more, while keeping a supportive and engaging environment. Our goal is to make English feel less overwhelming and more like a tool to help each child build a more comfortable and confident life.

My Story
This project began with a simple question: "What if learning English didn’t have to be so confusing?"
Growing up in a household where English wasn’t the first language, I experienced first-hand how hard it can be to learn a new language while still holding on to your home language. I remember the mix-ups, the frustration, and the fear of saying the wrong thing. Like many immigrant kids, I didn’t just have to learn English. I had to unlearn the fear that came with speaking it.
That’s why this project was born: to create fun, accessible, and thoughtful English learning tools made specifically for children navigating life between two languages. We believe that learning should never feel like a barrier, but rather a bridge. A bridge to confidence, connection, and a more comfortable everyday life.
Every page of this project is built with empathy, shaped by real experience, and driven by the hope that no child has to feel alone in the language-learning process.
Meet The Founder
Aangi Mehta is currently a Sophomore at Evergreen Valley High School in San Jose, California and founded WordzTrail in her freshman year of high school. As a second generation immigrant who spoke mostly Gujarati and Hindi at home growing up, she struggled speaking and reading English throughout her early years of Elementary School, which inspired her to create a learning resource to help children who are currently experiencing what she did. Despite her complicated relationship with the English language and Language Arts growing up, her current favorite subject is ELA and she considers it to be her biggest strength.
She first discovered her passion for working with children when she was only 8 years old, helping out at her mother’s daycare and teaching younger children how to do their homework. In 2024, she began helping out at a local Title I school, where she tutored students one-on-one, many of these students being immigrant children who needed assistance in learning English. A few months later, she began doing online tutoring, where she tutors children across the world in whatever subjects they find difficulty with.
In school, she currently serves as the Public Relations Officer for the Pilates Club at her school, where she helps lead outreach efforts and promote student engagement, and is an active member of several other clubs such as Red Cross and UNICEF. Outside of school, she works as an online tutor, sharing her knowledge and supporting students in their academic growth. In her free time, she enjoys expressing her creativity through graphic design and digital art, as well as crafting, baking, painting, and playing bass guitar. With a passion for education, working with children, and community involvement, she is excited to share WordzTrail’s mission to the world.
